spare wheel as an extra

Featured Replies

I bought my monster ex-stock so didn't have the option of having a factory fitted spare wheel and ordered one as an extra. It is now 5 weeks since I collected the car and 10 weeks since it was first ordered with no sign of the wheel. I am told the problem is in getting the jack.

How long has anyone else waited for the spare wheel/jack/floor if ordered as a dealer supplied extra?

I ordered Octavia Estate 1.9TDI and ordered with spare wheel . Vehicle was supplied ex stock without spare wheel but it was agreed dealer would order spare ASAP to replace the pump & can of 'Glue' Took about 3wks for delivery . My spare Wheel was a 6.0J x15" ET 48 off-set steel wheel with 195/65/15T Continental premium contact tyre. Would be interested what size wheel & tyre you get. Thanks .

Still awaiting mine for a car delivered in January - no stocks coming to UK from Czech Republic

Maybe we will get so used to running without a spare wheel we won't want one when it arrives!!

This must be a SUK problem.

I bought a spare wheel and the associated Skoda bits from my local dealer two months ago. The wheel and tyre was from a local supply and the special Skoda bits came from Czech Republic in a few days. The parts numbers are shown in a couple of other threads.

Maybe the question ought to be asked: "How come delivery in the rest of EU is just a few days and you cannot get the bits?"

Generallty, and not Skoda specific, parts are stored in a warehouse somewhere centrally in Europe. For Mercedes, it is Hannover, Germany. If I order a part from the dealer before 1600, it is delivered to the dealer before 0700 the next day. Skoda is a little different in that they deliver to the importer the next day, so one more day added. In a market as big as the UK, it would surprise me if there would not be a similar arrangement.

Skoda orders are 2 days on a stock order, next day on a VOR (vehicle off road) order. I think that the deadline for order submission is around 3pm. If you require a part for next day delivery and you have missed the deadline, you can premium order upto around 5pm, but this carries a charge of £5 per line ordered. Obviously if the part is not in the UK, it will be back ordered.

Skodas UK warehouse is at Dordon. I thought that their parts system was OK until I had experience of another importers system, which puts Skodas one to shame. Better invoicing/returns system, hardly any wrong/nil picks of parts and hardly any damaged parts arriving, with Skoda any of these used to be a daily ocurrence. I can even log in from home to see what has been delivered, when it was delivered and the serial numbers of the containers which it has arrived in - all before I get to work.

Just ordering doesn't guarantee delivery. If the part isn't there or scheduled to be built then nothing you can do.

I have been waiting about 6 weeks for underseat storage box bits for my Yeti.

Very useful link , Many Thanks .

I was trying to understand why Octavia spare wheel is 15" and yet an apparently suitable 16" steel spare wheel is available on the Yeti.

The 16" would be a better match for my Octavia Estate when fitted with 205/55/16 tyre and would fit in wheel well . Std Octavia alloy wheels on my car are 20/60/15.

But have bought std 15" spare now so will have to live with it unless I can do a swap with Skoda.

Hi - I too bought ex-stock, a demonstrator actually. I did ask about the spare and whether I could get one but nobody has got back to me. Maybe nobody knows how to order them.

How do you fit the raised floor and is this a dealer fitting job? You may have got the spare by now so it would be interesting to see how you got on.

You can buy the necessary bits and there is no need for dealer installation - simple add on job. The necessary bits are in the Yeti parts numbers thread.

Been there, done that, cheaper if you ordr it from scratch.
