Would it be possible to use a reversing camera with the Bolero unit ?

Not without some hacking of the bolero. Not come across anyone that's done that yet :-(

Anyone want to charitably donate their unused Bolero for disection? Funny enough just this morning i hacked an Aux In into my BMW head unit so i'm in the mood for this BMW Stereo Hack, Solder an Aux In port in place of tape deck

Apparently the Columbus (RNS-510) has a video in? You can hook up the VW reversing camera controller (from the Tiguan) + camera that pops out the VW badge on the boot of the Golf MK6. Can be coded with VCDS.

Also seen a reference to "RCD-510 with video-in" (which the Bolero is based on). There might be hope...

its an option on the VW range so yes its possible.

there are two types of bolero - one has a video in for the reversing camera but you have to get one from a car that has this feature already like in some vw's.

the std bolero wont take one although you can add to it so that a camera will work. this is costly though as basically the touchscreen will have two inputs - one from the new box and one from the bolero itself.

VW have changed their stock photo - so the one in my post from a year ago is defunct.
