I’ve just brought a Felicia and when I brought it was missing and sounded like a injector was down but then I noticed that there is a tiny linkage just next to the throttle cable on the engine was not clicked on the little ball joint, so I clicked it on and it ticked over nicely but now when I hold it at around 1200 to 1500rpm it misses and pours of smoke what could be causing this and how could I resolve it.

The engine is a 1999 1.9 Diesel

that linkage is the idle boost actuator...

re the smoke: could be that the pump timing is out, also have you fiddled with anything else on the injection pump?

no, ive not messed with anything else, i just connected the linkage back on, when i got it the linkage was pushed over to the offside of the car as i connected it back in it went alot more over to the near side of the car and it started ideling fine then but then went jerky at about 1200 rpm i dunno if that helps to identfy how i can sort it

is the idle boost solenoid actually plugged in? or working? it's over near the battery
