New Superb Estate - Amethyst purple

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'm looking to order my first Skoda - Superb estate - 170 CR 4x4 elegance

my only problem now is which colour?

i fancy a change from silver - and am considering the 'estate only' amethyst purple - however i can't track down a car in this colour locally to check out

has anyone seen one yet? If so would appreciate your thoughts

Thanks

Have seen it and order it! :)

It's like a capuccino-beige but darker, with more color to it and it looks different in different light conditions. Like on a sunny day or on a clowdy day, at night, etc. But's its not like showing it on a broschure, it's more like Silver/Brown (30%/70%). Purple sparkle only seen on a sunny day on a right angle... or in a saloon under the lights.

Here is a good example how it looks on a clowdy day:

I also ordered an amethyst purple. I agree in most lights it does look more silver / brown than purple, but I obviously really liked it. I ordered the black/black interior as well as I thought the combination went very well together. It is definatelt different than the grey and silver cars that seem to be so popular now, but still subtle.

Allams of Epsom have one in the showroom. It's actually a nice colour in the flesh. I was in two minds when I actually saw it but eventually went for black!

Test drove Withams one last month 2.0CR 170 DSG, very nice car indeed and looked nice in the Gunmetal grey. It really is ALOT of car for the money I just dont know Skoda does it lol

Thanks so much all!

No adverse reaction, as I'd hoped - in fact very favourable - so will most likely go for it - have already settled on the Onyx interior given the challenge of keeping an ivory interior looking clean long term

particular thanks for the link to photo's in slovenia!

this forum is so useful!

The Auto Express video shows it in Amethyst. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/videos/featuresvideos/249235/skoda_superb_estate.html

I've ordered mine in Amethyst & have seen one in a showroom in Manchester & it looks good.

Thanks again

it's good to know that you've seen it on the actual car and was happy to go for that colour - i suppose my concern was that it may be too 'bright' for the car which needs to look classy and understated in my view

i've had a good study of this and will probabaly go for the amethyst
