Hi,

i bought my fabia in may 2009, 2007 with 22k, and it looked like every other red vrs..

Although it stayed standard for almost a year, i had a fair idea of what i wanted to do with the car, lowered, splitter and wheels of some sort. I wanted to keep the car standard for as long as possible until i got bored with it, as i want to hold onto this car until i can insure vtec of some sort..

Got a set of tt comps on the cheap which needed a slight refurb, so i got them polished up for the summer, although we are having more snow that sunshine at the minute:S

I want to lower the back slightly more, and am considering painting my grill red, and eventualy strut braces and a rear anti roll bar are in the pipeline, then perhaps a pd160 intake and a remap:D

c&c welcome..

The wheels look great, are they 17 or 18 inch?

  • Author

Thanks, they are 17inch audi tt comp alloys.

i put on 205/40 tires, and unfortunantly the car doesnt seem to corner as well as it did on the standard wheels and tires. anyone know why this might be?? both are mohawk tires.

A nice looking car there

This post is no longed needed :)

Thanks for comments, and pictures, how did you put them up??

Theres an image icon on the toolbar that lets you do it or you can type [ img ] link [ /img ] without spaces either side :)

Looks nice :)

Not sure I have heard of Mowhawk tyres, must be budgets which would explain bad handling!

He said they both had Mowhawk tyres...

It could be the simple fact that the wheels are heavier and the suspension is having to work that little bit harder.

Personally I would have gone with 215.40.17 for the extra rubber on the road.

My vRS handles better then my old 2.0l which had 195.50.15. It perhaps doesn't change direction so willingly because of the extra weight but the grip levels are epic once you start learn to use that 300 fl lbs of torque out of the bends.

Great stylin.. everything you've done is what i've done.. :giggle:

I couldn't be doing with polished tt comps though, so i painted them white :D

Dude the car looks amazing!! Everyone knows that red cars are the fastest. I went for a black one cos red cars are unlucky for me as all the red ones i have owned, have taken erly retirement in cubesville,Scrapyard alley!!

Looks good.

As for handling, it's why I run 16s on a Fabia. To me the car responds better and with a 16" tyre there's more sidewall and a bit more feedback. Plus the fact that TT Comps weigh A LOT for a 17" wheel. An increase of around 3Kg per corner, against the OEM 16" vRS wheel

Steve

looking good, B) .....

ive got some tt comps as putting porsche brembo's on soon dont think my present wheels will clear...so mine will look like yours soon.

Looks good , I think TT comps look great on the Fabia.

Yea i know what you mean, polishing them is very repetitive, and requires elbo grease lol.. but it keeps me fit:D

The centre caps are just the standard vrs wheel centre caps, fit the tt wheels perfect..

Yea im in N.Ireland, you from here aswell??

Thanks for all the comments:D

Took the number plate off today, as I never liked the style of this plate, but never got around to changin it as it wasnt a priority lol. Athough its only off temporatly (likely until i get a fine *-)) i think it cleans the front up alot. Hope to remove /smooth the number plate surround off sometime/someway/ when ever I decide what i wanna do with it. Hope to get a set of pressed plates in the mean time. Or maybe a number plate sticker to fit to one side of the number plate surround, im undecided so opinions are appreciated.. It will be trial and error really until i get it how i like:D Wont be rushed anyway thats for sure as im currently like most students, broke..

Anyone know how i can edit the title??

Thanks

Hit edit on the 1st post, then hit advanced, or "use full editor".

I wanted a Red one too.. but got seduced by a black one at a car supermarket a couple of weeks before I started looking..

Still love Red Fabias!
