SD Cards on Columbus Nav Unit

Featured Replies

I have spent the last couple of days browsing this subject and to be honest I am now more than confused than ever

I opted for the Columbus Nav on my MY10 Superb II, the manual suggests that 16gb SDHC is the max size card the system can read ... why ?

I would ideally use a 32gb card to cater for most of my music but reading some of the Bolero posts if I were to have 32gb of tunes on an SD Card I would need to work 3 hours away before it would start playing !!!!

In short ..

Does the Columbus have the same slow load problem as the Bolero

Why 16gb max

Please

Thanks Simbo,

I really appreciate the quick response

32gb card here I come .....

I'm afraid it only the Bolero that's afflicted with the slow syndrome as standard.

Why 16gb max

Most likely because that was the largest commonly available size when the manual was written. Seriously that is the usual reason, it happens all the time with technology things like flash cards, usb memory sticks and hard drives increase in capacity way faster than the manual writers can keep up so they don't bother.

The SDHC standard was always designed for up to 32GB so any device that works with a SDHC card will work with a SD (backwards compatible) or SDHC card of any capacity. If you were to buy a new SDXC card it would not work in the Columbus because the Columbus does not know about the SDXC format.
