Yes non-resonated is a bit louder. I am going for a custom system from power-flow as you can tailor it exactly how you want i.e. tail pipe style, sound and bore diameter. Also have a few mates with these and the build quality and finish is superb. Having mine fitted this friday (09/04) so can let you know on sound etc if this is any good to you.

ive got a non resonated miltec cat back with a de cat downpipe which has now got a 200 cel sports cat welded in and its still not LOUD but sounds nice. the only way to get a loud system is as above get a system made up. i would recommend exhaustuk in sheffield or you could use a powerflow dealer if your not local to sheffield

hi all

i have a power-flow custom system when i went to them they were great they asked me what i wanted i said the louder the better they said they can do a wake the dead system so as you can guess thats what i went for

i am currently running a 200cpi cat and the exhaust has a non res straight through 5" silencer (may as well not be there) the quallity is pretty good and fits like a treat just wish i had gone for a twin outlet rarther than a single but to get to the point it is extremely loud you can hear me before you can see me it has been compared to a sound of a world rally car .

but loud is not always better you have to be carefull when the blue's and two's are about :giggle:

my mate has a non res miltec and side by side you cannot hear his car

If you are going for a "off the shelf" system then IMO Blueflame is the better and reasonable priced. It is one of the loudest off the shelf systems, although not massively loud. Most turbo back systems are not loud as there is not much back pressure. Miltek are one of the quietest, had both on my car. An none resonated is not much different to a resonated again had both on mine. The none resonated is slighly louder on a motorway journey.

I have a Decat now which does make more of a difference to noise on tickover and through the revs.

If you want noise then a custom system is the way to go.

I have heard that Piper exhausts are a little louder but could not find a dealer when was looking.

you could try pipewerx in the midlands/chesterfield,thet quoted me £850 for 3inch turbo back system with sports cat you can choose your tailpipe designand noise level.all custom made on the car in real time.great value for a custom system i reckon.went with the milltek 3inch turbo back in the end and its a little quiet for me would prefer the non resonated to give a bit more than a burble on tickover,it does sound nice when you stamp on the go pedal though.

If you're after a Piper then PM GarryC, he designed the Piper exhaust for the VRS and has it on his car, although he no longer works for Piper.

It sounds quite loud at idle but not particularly intrusive on the motorway and A roads.

I will be going Blueflame, handy there is a special on at Awesome at the mo

Another vote for blueflame here. I have mine mated to an APR downpipe and 200cel cat. Gives a nice burble and isn't particularly loud, still flies through noise tests at the motorsport events i do.

mine from turbo back,de-cat from torque flow in brum.

i have a piper turbo back on mine and i love it. its quite loud when you cane it but its not intrusive at all when just driving normally. I love the little crackles it makes on the over run too

Piper sounds great on my car but I haven't got much else to compare it to. I only realised just how good it sounds when a friend of mine drove it around the block and I heard it from outside the car.

I'll try and get a video up as from what I've seen (heard) of the blueflame and miltek systems the Piper has quite a different sound to it.
