I agree, just got my CR TDI and it's a lot quieter than my old PD :)

CR170 in the VRS sounds really nice revving under load I think. A lot better than the PD. I quite like the sound my fettled PD makes though - the induction noise masks the tractoriness quite well. B)

Some of us like tractors. I prefer to hear engine running and pulling rather than driving a car thats quiet. In the old days cars use to be throaty -now even diesels sound like an electric train. Is it because they have deadened the sound more?

If you want a quiet car go for a petrol.
