Felicia 1.3 GLI Thermostat problem

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to the forum and I'd like to introduce myself. my name is Glenn I have a Skoda Felicia 1.3 GLI ,R REG, I'm a musician and recently just got an instrumental funk track I wrote signed to the new Cafe del Mar album, in shops now, thought I'd get the plug in!!

I have got a problem with my Skoda and I was hoping you could help. The thermostat has stopped working and I was told by Skoda that I have to buy the whole housing unit aswell, quite a cost difference than just getting a thermostat. My question is do I have to buy a whole new housing and thermostat or is it possible to get just the thermostat and if so where can I get one as my local motor spares shops have never seen anything like the thermostat I took out to show them. I would be very greatful on any advice.

Hi glennbo,

Fab news on the cafe del mar; I have most of the collections well up to 5 anyway and a special one.

As to your parts you could try skospares, I'm afraid I can't recal lthe exact link, but it's in the links section. They have in the past sourced parts from many models so might be a good place to start.

There are afew mechanics onsite who maybe able to give a little more detail.

The other option is the scrappy... am sure there will be other cars with the same make of component.. I don't know if that engine is a VW one.. in which case polo's etc should be easy to find.

butts part no fts200

The 1.3 isnt a VW engine its Skoda lump.

I usually change the housing as it comes with a new temp sensor in it and they pack up quite often and cause starting and running problems, bit of preventative repair work.
