Airbag warning light

Featured Replies

Afternoon all

This afternoon I have taken out my glovebox; so that i could have a poke about inside the ventilation fan to remove some leaves and look for the resistor pack to get my fans working on all speeds again.

Fan off, flap open, leaves removed so no more clickity-clickity-clickity-clickity-clickity-click - WOOHOO!!

I couldn't find the resistors although now know it's not a huge job to get the glovebox out so will have another look around to see if i can find some pics of what i'm looking for.

However in my search for the fan resistors i disconneced my passenger airbag and even though it's all plugged in; and i assume it working fine; I now have the warning light on the dash

can i reset it manually or do i need to find a local friendly VAGCOM owner?

You'll need to get it re-set with a VAGCOM 'cos it's a safety feature.

I don't have a passenger airbag but my light is on so I'm guessing it's the drivers one, if I fnd someone with a vagcom will it just turnthe light off or will I know if it's going to work or not?

to be honest Pete i'm not 100% sure

Mine was showing a fault cos i unplugged the airbag; then plugged it back in again.

We cleared the fault, the light went off and when scanned again the fault was not registering.

It didn't come up with a screen saying "your airbag will not work" but then we weren't really loooking for it as we knew nothing was "broken"

Someone with more knowledge of such things will be along shortly
