blueflame exhaust?

Featured Replies

im thinking into making a couple of possible changes to my vRS so have been doing a little research etc......

after getting bored of hunting the net through different sites i wandered onto youtube as many of you do im sure and had a gander for vRS video's

there seems to be alot with a 'blueflame exhaust' so i had a little look at the website and got the info, but im just wondering if anyone is running with one of these? and how it is?

cheers

There are a few threads on here regarding exhausts. Ive run a blueflame cat back for about 20k miles, no real difference in performance but does give a nice note!

Not sure what members already have these - hopefully someone will be along soon. Blue flame always seemed to have a good reputation a few years back when I had a mkiv golf.

Have you seen that group buy currently being run by Awesome (in the sponsors section)??? - very good price on a full turbo back system.

Maybe send Sarah or Ade at Awesome a message for some feedback on the fabia system....

Edit - Doh, posted just after Gaz_vrs

I've got a scorpion cat back with a 6x4 tailpipe. Again no difference in performance, but does sound nice and of course looks better.

had a 2.5'' bluflame on my kpro'd civic type r, gave good gains, if thats any help

I'm running a jetex and the turbo spools up quicker and there's abit more power up the top end. I used to have a blueflame but found it alittle too loud for my taste.

I'm running a Blueflame with a Miltek decat. I'm happy with it, not much (if at all) louder, but a nicer exhaust note with more turbo whistle :)

cheers chaps!

I have a scorpion cat back, love it, 3k and boot it sounds lovely, but when i`m just pottering about its not any louder than the standard exhaust. Perfect!

blue flame full de cat.....wudnt know it was on unless was told....

sorry to hijack this post, but doesn't having a decat on a diesel reduce back pressure and ruin the turbo?

do diesels have cats? or is it actually called the DPF?

Diesels do have cats, the dpf is something extra on newer ones like the newer mk2's. Some people think the lack of back pressure is a issue, some have run for ages without one, so that's nothing 100% founded. Although I believe mr Hunt above has a uprated turbo thus no longer a issue anyway.

Matt

Yes diesels do have something like ctas

But they dont need a cat to pass the MOT as they have smoke tests for the MOTs

Decatting with han]ve no effect on backpressure either

All will be OK

I do believe we have sold hundreds of these......I was one that pushes Milltek to finnish the decat on that

Sarah

i bought a blueflame for my octavia and there was no noise difference what so ever and it didnt fit correctly

if i had the choice again i would choose something else

Can't really compare something sold for the Octavia to something sold for the Fabia though.

im not saying you should

also not saying its not going to sound the same, of course it wont

but the customer service was rubbish and build quality aint great

so you can compare that when its the same company

ive got the blueflame cat back on my fabia, isnt an obvious loud type of exhaust but does have a nice low tone to it. as someone mentioned above, revs about 3k up sounds good

Decatting with have no effect on backpressure either

So what I have heard about decatting making the VNT turbo overspool is not true? :o

imo if driven properly you wont get problems..

Decatting either has an effect on back pressure (and thus VNT overspool) or not :p :D

Whats the dealio ? :giggle:

but surely simple logic will tell you that removing both the back box and cat and just having a straight through pipe WOULD effect back pressure :S

I've just ordered one from an ebay seller. (amber performance)

£275 delivered for cat back system. Cheaper than Blueflames own price last time I checked.

I thought it affected back pressure too and the reduced pressure doesnt help turbo.

Indeed but EVERY SINGLE PERSON says something different! :@:giggle:

I just want a straight honest answer :'(
