The DS2500s come highly recommended on here, get some 5.1 brake fluid in it as well and that should be great for a bit of Ring work.

yeah i have ap 5.1 in already and will change again before i go

most people recommend the ferodo's so i am leaning towards them

cheers mate

a bit off topic but just to let you know them weitecs are B) thankyou very much top man :thumbup:

no worries mate

glad you enjoyed

I would have to aggree with everyone here and suggest the DS2500 pads. They are a good all round pad.

An good alternative to consider if your planning on doing multiple laps of the ring in quick sucsession would be the DS3000 pads for the front brakes. I use these on track days and they never give any hint of a problem, just keep working and working, even in our heavy cars :) As said tho, not the cheapest. They are on offer at the moment on Motorsport World tho so that helps.

Ferodo DS2500 - £146.95 (http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/detprod.asp?productcode=FCP590H&PID=1094282)

Ferodo DS3000 - £168.73 (http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/detprod.asp?productcode=FCP590R&PID=1102792)

terribly sorry to revive such an old post, but I intend to take my MKI RS estate to Brands Hatch. Thinking the brakes need to be changed???

I've heard a lot of good thinks about the DS2500, except that they produce a lot of brake dust, which is not a good think for alloy wheels.

Would anybody be able to comment;

do I need to sink 600 notes in an upgraded brake system?

do I need to worry about brake dust?

TIA

What discs/rotors are you using?

One thing to remember with the DS3000 is they produce a lot of dust, they squeal, they arent to kind to discs and they take a bit of warming up!

I run these pads on my Porsche calipers and like Garry said they are faultless :thumbup:
