repairing kerbed wheels

Featured Replies

Hi peeps I managed to kerb one of my lovely 18 inchers in Norwich. Now i am planning on blending it out with some wet & dry and micromesh. Now before I do that though i need to know what paint is used on the wheels if anybody knows. Means I can do the whole job in a oner without going to Skoda for assistance (nearest is 50 miles away).

Cheers for any help

A mobile painter is only £35 to repair kerbed wheels , no brainer

as bluevrs says, sometimes its just better to pick up a phone and call somebody who does it for a living!

as above

Once you have bought the spray and taken your time to do it £35.00 is not that bad!

Absolutely agree, get a mobile painter out, no offence but you will never achieve the same result yourself. If it's any comfort when I got mine both driver side wheels needed refurbing, then swmbo launched the other side into a kerb last week, grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Been quoted 160 sheets all in, and that includes changing the colour should a slightly darker shade take my fancy

My only advice would be to ensure that the you don't get a cowboy that just masks the wheel, for a proper job the tyre will need de-flating and the bead cracked. ;)

On my last Octy, tyre fitter messed up 3 wheels (3 out of 4 - not bad I suppose!)

Their company got a mobile wheel refurb guy down from Tunbridge Wells I think - they paid, not me, but it was £38 per wheel and looked like new.

cheers, peeps. was gonna do it myself as I do the occasional blending at work but for £35 i will defo get a man who can.

Any recommendations for someone in the Midlands? Had to swerve to avoid an idiot pedestrian on the way to the hotel tonight and clipped the nearside rear, taken a nice chunk out of the alloy and may need a new tyre too as there's a lovely flap of rubber on the sidewall now emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

(One Dunlop down, three to go....)
