Anti-dazzle wing mirrors

Featured Replies

Hey folks

i'm getting bored of being dazzled by other drivers lights in my wingmirrors, and it led me to wonder if there are any suitable anti-dazzle glass available for the fabia?

I guess the glass from a golf or octavia wouldn't be suitable...

I guess you could use tinting ifilm on them, but not sure if this would impair overall vision, and also whether the film would be affected by the heated elements - would hope not.

ah yes, i was just thinking perhaps an anti-dazzle spray...but no such thing seems to exist - Dragons Den here I come! :giggle:

I did wonder about the old heated function - wouldnt want to melt anything!

would the ones off the mk1 octy not fit? they were tinted on some models i think...heated aswell?

Someone will corect me if I'm wrong, but I believe mark 4 golf/bora blue tinted mirror

glass is a direct replacement and is also heated. Check ebay searching for the golf

variant and you'll be surprised how many sellers do them. Heated, blue and with

blind spot angle for round the 8 quid mark.

Oooh, nicely done!

Any chance of a part number? Was it straightforward to replace?

How easy does the glass pop out please?

Also, anyone tried fitting an auto dimming rear view mirror? Is it just a case of wiring it up to the power from the light or is there more to it?

I have fitted an auto dimming rear view mirror to my VRS, It is an aftermarket mirror which means I had to buy an adapter to fit it to the VRS windscreen mount, it is wired into the stereo ignition live wire so that it powers off when the ign keys are taken out.

If you got one from a VW I would imagine the VRS windscreen mount would be the same.

This is one of my favorite add ons to any car that does not have one, would not be without it now B)

I got it from the USA from this place, but they are also available via ebay etc:

Bought them off a member on here, so I don't know the part number. All I know is the wires for the heating element need to be splined to reached across to the other side
