Work in progress for Combe & the Summer

Featured Replies

Today I have decided to work on the mongrel following 6 months of neglect.

The usual clean-up process is underway - wheels are off (in the background :D), cleaned and about to be polished and jet-seal'd this afternoon.

Car will soon be machine polished - Has already been cleaned off using a clay - surprising amount of contaminants given the car has hardly been anywhere since it blew up last September...

What's the opinion on the black wingmirrors (100% painted black magic, no matt black plastic on show!) now the roof is also black?

Was also working on my mountain bike. Front brakes were binding.

Also note only need for 1 axle stand on the nearside as the suspension keeps both wheels off the ground once the front is up high :D

ahhhhhh, that car looks mean, i remember getting overly excited at a show in 2008 i think it was, when you were smogging your way up the strip. I like the black wing mirrors and roof too, got any pictures of the wheels on it?

Matt

You have inspired me to go outside now Jason and get mine ready for next week! Got an issue with the brakes at the moment though, so need to have a look at those. Also, don't suppose you know how to get the wing mirror covers off? Ive got an annoying rattle every time the passenger door is shut coming from the mirror!

The covers are a pain to get off to be honest! have a feeling there's two screws underneath but also clips behind the mirror glass! :(

Pics with wheels on. Well this was taken the day I got it back from it blowing up (the first time.... :giggle: )

Reflection from the newly painted wingmirror. Not bad considering it was ME who painted it, and with rattlecans too.....

Reflection off the side once it had been machine polished.
