I was just looking at some posts about seat covers.Im getting my Fabia vrs on Tuesday and as im a heating engineer and i car share quite a lot with workmates i needed car seat covers.I didnt want to ruin the vrs mats either with it being winter so i bought a seat cover\mats pack from Index(i know its cheap but they were only going to get dirty). Now im not so sure they will fit after seeing a piccy of someones front seat with one of they custom made jobs from hatchbag.Have i just made an ass of myself or will i get the cheap ones to fit.Im not really bothere about how they look its only to keep the seats clean.Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you got side airbags? If so, I understand covers are a problem...

you could always purchase the green seat covers that the skoda mechanic's use. The Teflon spay is also a good purchase, there was a group buy on it some time ago.

Well my Fabia is standard so i would assume it has side airbags as it says so in the brochure.Ihavent recieved the covers yet as i bought them on the net.I will just need to wait and see. What is the best teflon spray to get and where can i get it.Thanks for the help guys

How about Supagard carpet spray? Much the same as the Teflon stuff, and here it is for

Side air bags are an option on the Fabia vRS dont come with them as standard.

Will have it written on the upper part of the side of the seat if they are fitted.

they probably wont fit properly due to the side bolsters on the seat, the cover willl go over the seat but unless the cover is realy big it wont fit the contours of the seat properly, i tried 2 different sets of standard covers before i went for the hatchbag taylored seat covers and they fit the seats perfectly

I've got a Skoda Green Mechanic's seat cover for when I'm doing dirty stuff lol...

It's quite a nice bit of kit and I got the dealership to throw it in for me when I bought my car!

Thanks Josh.Is the seat cover ok.I wonder if the dealership i bought it from would give me a couple for the front seats or if they would charge me.Did they charge you?

I want a Green Skoda seat cover, after all im a bleedin Skoda tech!

I use a black Snap On one to keep day to day muckyness off.

Ross where did you get the snap on cover from? Are they plasic or fabric, I think the skoda ones are plastic.

I havent recieved the covers yet as i bought them on the net.
If you bought the covers from a firm rather than an individual (or possibly via eBay) then the Distance Selling Regulations should apply and you can send thenm back for a refund if you do so promptly. Have a look at the firm's Terms and Conditions of Sale first to see what you have to do.

Here is Index returns policy:

http://www.index.co.uk/index/rf.inf.RFServlet?pathinfo=index/indexservices/Returns.html

I assume the item you have ordered is either

http://www.index.co.uk/rf/navigation/product.do?SN=&Nao=13&versionid=986&categoryid=209673210&upsell=Y&thisprod=11232237&product=11232237&D=213670574&row=1&col=4&displaybanner=false

or

http://www.index.co.uk/rf/navigation/product.do?SN=&Nao=13&versionid=986&categoryid=209673210&upsell=Y&thisprod=213513294&product=213513294&D=213671123&row=2&col=1&displaybanner=false

Neither of which have the home approval exception icon, so you should be ok to send them straight back.

Cheers

your local dealer should be able to order them in for you. Not sure how much they are though. IF you do order them could you let us know how you get on?
