unusual problems

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm new here and need a little help.

I was talking to one of my neighbors today, who told me my lights had been on all night, not a strange thing I know. BUT No lights are switched on?! It's an 05 Octy estate 1.9tdi and the base model, so no fancy thing fitted for auto lights.

Funnily enough the battery was dead when I tried it, had it on charge all day and got it fired up, the power steering icon on the dash is staying on (displayed in the amber state). And bizarrely the lecy windows are not working properly, they go down fine, but Up works only if you hold your finger on the switch no auto shut?

Can any one shed any light on these issues? especially how the lights can come on all by themselves?

Joe

Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock as the steering angle sensor has probably lost position. I think you reset the windows by raising and lowering, check the handbook.

drive a few meters and the power steering light will be gone. It's written on your manual.

Were all the lights on, or just one side of the car?

You turn on the parking lights on the side of the car that you want by moving the indicator stalk in the relevant direction.
