Got him today!

Featured Replies

Here we go - well worth an eight week wait, and contact with Briskoda.

Picked him up today from Sinclair ~Skoda in Swansea - exemplary dealers, good to deal with and true to their word. Great hand over and so on. Recommended for a decent deal.

First Impressions? Nice high driving position BUT rear-view mirror right in my field of vision!! Found myself ducking and diving to see things, but once I had adjusted it was no problem at all!

Seats are excellent - with great lateral support. i am getting a bit broad in the beam with advancing years, yet this held me without overflowing. I stalled the thing twice in the 2 roundabouts getting away from the dealers! Again after adjusting it was ok, as was the feel of the pretty acute brakes. Initially I found I was changing down often, but as I realised what the 170 engine could do I didn't need to.

The sound system is just the best I have ever heard in a car, and I am so pleased i opted for the upgrade. As a musician I listen to music all the time and really need it to be reproduced with clarity. More importantly, I need a good deep bass (as a bass player!) and the bass on this system is so deep and reverberates just right with a lovely resonant sound that is in no way distorted. Bliss. Sheer heaven, actually!!

Initially I found that the road sound was noticeable, but realised it was down to the surface in the indistrial estate! It also rode the bumps and berms with aplomb. No wind noise at all (BUT - I may have drowned it out with the music!!!!!). It did "pitter" a bit over repeated potholes.

Then, after a 48 mile journey home, including dual carriageway, mountain roads, local roads, and town driving I found I had achieved 47.9mpg albeit with some canny driving! Excellent stuff, I thought.

This evening I took a mate out - and he complained that his BUM was hot!! I hadn't figured out the heated seats!! We had 4 up and the car took it well with no lessening of mpg. The lights, though, are interesting and have a mind all of their own! I love the way they turn on and off and illuminate where you are headed every time. I hadn't thought I'd appreciate that, but it is just excellent. They also rise and fall according to the drive, and even stayed lit to allow me up to my front door. How civilised.

My boot is full of instruments as we've a ceilidh this weekend and there's plenty room for all of it.

Initial impressions are everything I had wished and hoped for - smooth, easy to drive, responsive, sticks to the road, and that SOUND, oh the sound... ... ... And that MPG too - so far I am stuck for words on that and will report if it improves or gets worse depending upon whether I drive like an old fart all the time!

I'm off to bed to eat the manual - sorry, read the manual!! And I am chuffed with the colour - though the dealer had a Storm Blue Yeti as a demo - and it looked lovely too.

You were not exited, I take it?

Congrats with the New Monster.

Fabulous, glad to hear you are so pleased. You now have a lovely weekend to show her off! B)

Congratulations.

Excellent mpg result for a brand new vehicle.

I will probably be sat inside with a stoopid grin on my fizzog trying to work out what everything does, and getting it set "just right" for me. Like getting the climate control set to cool the furrowed forehead while toasting the toes, or adjusting the initial sound level at switch on, setting radio stations (we can only get three up here!), moving the seat and its two lumbar supports to that sweet spot. Oh - and a small excursion up onto the Epynt to grab some pictures.

And as others have noted, heads turn to look. I parked up in Brecon last evening to get some bits and pieces and on returning there were 2 or 3 people examining it! Quite amusing.

I just LOVE the Bolero instructions which talk of the SETUP setup setups - all three of them! Must be the translation, which in general is pretty good, unlike some Japanese manuals which feature tortured english.

Happy new Yeti, another for the owners and photos lists. Enjoy your' motoring.

and on the journey to work and back - 32 miles both ways over the Brecon Beacons and back lanes, it did an astonishing 49.1 mpg. it was actually registering over 51 until I hit the 1-in-3 across the valley. I can't think it is right, but will keep monitoring. it is telling me that the range is 470 miles on top of the 170 I've done already. That gives a possible 640 miles per tankful.

I got my A2 about the same time after it came out as I'm now getting the Yeti after its release. It was really peculiar when people on the motorway slowed down to look, went past my car and looked and then slowed down and undertook me to look again. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif But the best was a woman whose jaw physically dropped when she came out of a shop and I was stadning at the traffic lights. She then pointed at the car and showed it to her kid. I never knew if they thought the car ugly, weird or what, (it is an aquired visual taste these A2s) but hey ho, it amused me no end. I look forward to the same in the SM so please don't collect to many of them before I get mine!!!

You got great weather this weekend to play with your new one for sure! Enjoy!

You lucky mochin!!

Quick jaunt down the M4 to Combe then in the morning? :D

Congratulations on the new Monster.

I am noticing a few admiring glances too. Most seem to have been from Honda CRV drivers so far, oh and one particularly distracted Octy owner.
