looking to upgrade to an octy vrs... possible swap

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I usually reside in the fabia section but i am seriously considering selling my fab vrs for a octy vrs mk1, anyone done the same and what are your thoughts/experiences?

Ideally i want to swap my 115k mile silver fab in very good (and completely standard) condition for a very clean, tidy and standard/unabused mk 1 octy with less than 80k miles and a fsh, looking on autotrader this seams very reasonable (with cash to spare), what are your thoughts guys, and a long shot but is anyone interested?

Have to say, absolutely nothing wrong with the car, never le me or my best friend (previous owner) down...EVER, just that i have had it for 2 years now and fancy something a little bigger but whilst still keeping the skoda brand and as i do 15k miles a year it doesnt really make sense to have a diesel.

Thanks

Hi there Mike

I didnt think the post would be kept on if i posted pics, would it get removed as it should be in the sell section?

Really want to change to an octavia vrs but dont really want to go through the hastle of selling privately then finding a good octy.

Cheers

It's a good choice, I wanted a Furby VRS when I was looking to change cars a few years ago but as they were diesels and most still had low mileages at the time they were all so expensive and I was eventually convinced to go for an Octavia VRS instead, 2 grand cheaper than most Furb VRS's at the time, it has been amazingly economical for a petrol turbo and performance and practicality is a lot better than the Furb.

Unfortunately my Octy has now done starship mileage so a swap is off the cards but like you say the price difference means you will be able to sell the Furb and pick up a decent Octy VRS with loads of cash to spare, that will probably make up for the increase in fuel costs, tax and insurance from swapping to an Octy.
