Any idea what boost the car was making before and after the remap?

This might seem like a stupid question, but what exactly is overboosting? Surely a custom map won't have done this? The graph on page 2 of this thread might give some indication as to the levels it's currently running.

It's when the turbo is spinning much much faster than it was designed to and producing far more boost than it was designed to. To a certain extent the max boost pressure the turbo can produce is limited by the size and shape of the compressor/exhaust turbines and inlets/outlets but it is also limited to a safe pressure by the opening of the wastegate, which is partially controlled by the ECU (and written into the engine map)

The graph doesn't show the boost but I noticed in your old thread it had a generic remap before that which was running 20psi boost and had unusually large amounts of torque. The custom map brought it down to a more reasonable 17psi. There are a few members on here who have run 21-23psi on maps (notably Custom Code ones) with no problems though.

when you get the bits back put some pics up i have one here that has the outer casing off but is a good turbo but will need a bracket off your turbo to repair it

or my other one needs the oil seals repaired

what does your car spike on boost ?????

i know someone who had a custom code map and it was running more boost than the turbo could handle , it killed the turbo then killed the engine at the same time

Overboosting a specific engine and turbo combination requires operating the turbo at the very top end of the turbo compressor map ie; higher rpm, higher pressure and higher operating temperature.

It can be done safely but the problem is you have a narrow operating range for the turbo to work in and if you get it wrong then compressor stalling and surging can occure.....both of which will feck the turbo.

Here's the graphs from the generic that was on before. Maybe the more experienced of you on here will spot something. I'm not quite sure what to look for in this case, so any advice or opinions will be of use.

As for the photos of the turbo, I'm sure everyone is interested to have a look. It'll be like a car crash, horrifying and fascinating at the same time. It's also costly for the person involved. :(
