OK so you may think i'm totally mad and you probably don't think it's possible to get some Diesel type MPG figures from a standard or remapped Vrs,but you CAN!

Having filled up on Friday night before setting off to Castle Combe (stayed in Hotel) the car averaged 48.1MPG over 169 miles.Driving was very slow probably averaged 55 due to road works and was in no rush to get there.

From Fridays figures i think it's possible to achieve 500+ :giggle: at least and maybe 550+ out of a tank driving at a very steady Slow pace.

What figure do you think is possible?

:giggle: i thought you were joking mate! You know what every one will say.........

478 is my record and that is motorway and town driving.

About 310-320 is the most I have ever had... Can you guess how I drive it??

LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVEN!!!!!!!!!!

MPG is for gays :finger:

Or people who have been banned twice before and now need there licence for there job lol

Should've gone to specsavers :nerd:

Might've saved ya licence

One of the other members on here can vouch for mine doing 42mpg on the way to Cadwell Park and back last year but I think that's the most I've ever had. and that wasn't dawdling at 55 it was sitting at 75 and going up to 80ish now and then to overtake.

I usually get 370 miles to a tank every 10 days with my commute to work (mixture of dual carriageway and town driving) although this drops to 360 miles to a tank in the winter when inlet air temps are lower.

Yeah ive had 42mpg aswell, saw 40.1 mpg tonight on the way home from work stuck behind a lorry. :smirk:

I managed 45.7MPG and I have a picture somewhere.

Most I have had is 432 miles I think.

Best MPG ive had was on a 200 mile trip from Brighouse to Bristol and it said on the dash 49.2

most out of a tank has been 436 but I never let it get that empty, that was just as the light came on so there would of been another 30 mile out of it pos more.

best ive seen was 39.8 average over a tank driving like a granny lol

norm is around the 30 mark :giggle:

Saw 42mpg on mine which was driving from Colchetser to Portsmouth a few weeks back with a full car of kids and a roof rack top box(nice).

That is driving at approx 65-70mph with a bit of overtaking on the way. Best I have had on my VRS. But when you work out the town driving I still never get over 320-350 mpg to a tank.

Went down to plymouth and back a few weeks ago and averaged 43.1 over 650 miles. Used just under a tank and a half IIRC.

Usual town driving is about 28-29 MPG.

Its how low the mpg can drop...... thats poor on a remapped octy vRS.

I can get 40mpg out of mine on my 10 mile trip to work (starting from cold), approx 3 miles of that is 30 mph the rest dual carriageway, and there are seven "T" junctions and seven roundabouts on route

However thats driving very very steady and TBH its no fun at all :'(

But if I use full boost (as much as possible for as much time as possible), then mine can see off a full tank of "V" power in approx 200 miles.....which is fun at the time  .....but not so much fun when the missus gets the visa :(

are we looking at tank fill calculations or just the trip computer? I have the 4x4 and the most I have seen on the computer was when I reset it and left my dads house then drove downhill at 30 for about 6 miles. Managed to get it to say 96 :D :D :D was completely wiped out when I got the the A roads and started overtaking though :D

I once did Newport-Preston-Warrington-Preston-Newport in one day at ~65mph on one tank, that's about 480. Petrol light still wasn't on!

You were driving economically? Surely not! Next you'll be saying diesels are a good idea! :giggle:

best ive had is 47mpg over a 50 mile trip, see better figures in this warmer weather mind!

Not really trying, just sticking with the flow really!

330 is what I aim for from ~52 litres of V-Power, with about an even mix of urban, rural and motorway.

Computer reckons it to be around 30mpg but it actually works out at 28.8

Recent new upgrade to Stage 2 APR remap courtesy of Awesome, be interesting to see what I'll be doing from now on!

Your MPG will probably improve slightly as i'm running APR stage 2.

I averaged 35.8MPG worked out by brim to brim driving down to CC (slowly) doing a few laps that showed around 10.6MPG on comp (thanks to R888's on the front) and around 38MPG on comp driving home @ around 77.

High mpg figures are easily achieved if you don't keep using the gas as a on/off switch.Drive smoothly and you do get very good figures.

I really think it is possible to get 550 miles out of a full tank:giggle:

Yeah, already noticing a bit better on average despite having a bit of a play here and there ;)
