Cars at trade

Featured Replies

Anyone know of any prices that what a dealer would get a car at ? and then what its normally sold on as?

Other half has just landed a nice job. And after a whle as part of the perk, you get a car @ trade +2% :p

Check out Glass's guide.

Thats only a used car guide from general public point of view

I mean the price that the dealer would pay from VW direct for example

One of my mates was a buyer for Ford for many years. He had a similar perk and after keeping whatever car he had at the time for a year or two, he'd sell it back to a dealership for a reasonable profit.

Main Dealers usually offer £1500 less than retail price.

So say for instance I P/X'd my vRS for £4500, then you could buy it for £4590.

Dont thing peeps are getting what im saying

Cost of the car to the retailer (say autoworld .. from seat direct)

Cost of the car + 2%

If that makes anymore sence?

Basically the OP (Mr Mul) would like to know how much less than the RRP of a brand new car does a dealer actually pay for the car before there cut is added and so on to get to the OTR.

For example (entirely ficticious)

The OTR of the Bronco Pizaz GLS is: £15000, How much would the Bronco dealer have to pay to buy that car from Bronco.

When you order a car, you pay the dealer £X, the dealer orders that car from the manufacturer and pays £Y for it. Then once you have taken the VAT and other fees into account whats left is the dealer profit. The OP want to know what £Y is generally in percentage terms of the full RRP.

I understood, I just don't know the figures. When I see him, I'll ask for you and get an idea of exact numbers.
