Swapping a k03s silenced over to an unsilenced one

direct fitment? i know the tip is the same, but what about the intercooler pipe?

K03S to K03?

The K03 turbo cannot handle the power output of the vRS, The K03S is basically the K04 turbo inards mounted in a K03 housing, I say basically, because there is more to it than that.

No the the pipe to the intercooler is different and will need to be changed.

Can't remember if it's slightly smaller in length or longer.

The silenced KO3s has a large chamber on the chargepipe whereas the early KO3s's don't??

both are k03s

I do believe that they are both K03s but one is for the transvers engine and one for longi engines.

why change?

they will be the same just one is silence the other is not and all fitting should be identical

makes no diference in power or boost i had one on my audi quttro sport you get slightly better presure on the silenced one!

i bought a spare to hybrid, and noticed my standard was silenced thats all! original will be for sale as soon as its off, mint condition too ;)

when its been hybridized you will need to change the tip pipe.

also are you changing the injectors and maf???

i have the perfect item to make this a very good setup in the for sale thread high flow mannifold :thumbup:

no ive specified that the original tip fits ;) yup got 440ccs injectors and an s3 maf, its all underway dont worry ;) cant budget for the mani..i had been contimplating it a few times!

I really think you will need a different pipe that comes off the turbo to the inter-cooler as there was a thread over on UKMKiv.I think your doing the right thing keeping the original manifold.:thumbup:

A friend made this swap on a A3 1.8T, it fitted perfectly with no changes required. I guess it should be the same for the vrs...

these little hybrids are deffo the way to go and are making really good power.......i may have to invest :thumbup:

have you already got a better TIP? hope its not the std vRS one as they are very restrictive?

I got a fleabay Neuspeed rip off from america lol cost 75 delivered or something like that. and its the same as the neuspeed.

forge copy tip, with s3 maf squeezed in. hoping for 270 horsies with supporting mods, will keep you updated

should be good to see dont set your heart on 270 as the cupra boys struggle to hit 250 with maps on there k04'd cars

will be ace to drive low down power and amazing mid range

seen a build with siumilr turbo on 296horse....

turbo back exhaust, forge front mount, tip,s3 maf,440cc injectors,modified airbox with panel filter, 4 bar fpr,walbro pump

but yeah we'll see eh ;)

k03s hybrid will struggle to get 296 bhp there only just getting that with the much larger k04 hybrid seen up to 308 on the k04 and at best ive seen 250 to 260 on the k03s.

speak to badger 5 ( bill brockband ) he has tested most of the hybrids with all different setups and you will see the k03 hybrid will struggle to hit 270 full stop

good luck though if it does im sold lol

ill find the graphs of the one i was looking at,....obviously diff rollers diff figures and such, as long as ive got good smooth power all im fussed bout really, not hunting figures ;)

aslong as it feels good buddy thats all that matters r&r are all *******s lol
