fabia vrs acceleration question

Featured Replies

hi when driving my fabia vrs and using the top of the accelerator pedal the car seems quicker and wheel spins in nearly every gear but when pressing it normal it seems slower, is the pedal bent or is it just me

Its you. as your foot is closer to the center of the pivot point your foot has less distance to travel to give more of an affect.........

theory is it should be harder to press it too........

Basic lever principle.

Same as steering a bike with your hands right in the middle, near the stem. Less arm movement needed, but more force is required.

thanks for your quick replys it makes sence, but it doesnt seem to need more force, its prob just me

prob got strong legs then :giggle:

ON something like a throttle the force difference will be tiny. THe longer/heavier the lever the more pronounced it will be.

When you press the accelerator, you are not physically moving anything in the engine bay. You are just giving the computer instructions on how to control the engine speed. You can check the amount of travel that the computer is seeing on VCDS.

I was just wondering, has your car been re-mapped? as my standard furby vRS don't spin in every gear:wonder:
