Octavia 03 Ambiente estate

Various tow bar kits come with some sort of universal wiring kit .

On an 03 bog standard ambiente 1.9tdi estate should I consider fitting Skoda electrics when putting on towbar. I had been told that on a car that age it should be ok to use the universal kit

Although i am not quite sure what that means !

What are the dangers of using the kit rather than the rather expnsive Skoda parts.

Any basic advice appreciated.
