How does the vrs read the revs of the engine? Im guessing a sensor but where is the sensor? Gearbox or abs ring or what? Cheers

i think its cam or crank shaft speedo is gearbox or abs ring i think only because when your stood in traffic the rev counter still works so cant be gearbox or abs your not moving hope this helps

The ECU has both crank and cam position sensors, so it figures the RPM out from both of them. (also means the engine can still be run in limp mode if one of the sensors fail)
