Coming home lights?

Featured Replies

Is there any way of enabling the coming home lights feature on a fabia 1 like the above video? I have a vag-com if that is required?

Cheers

Not sure how they've done it, Doesn't seem to be hooked up to the interior lights.

Maybe an additional box of tricks because I didn't think the Fabia had the feature in it's software, like DRL's.

put a search on ebay.. there's this box being sold by some lads from germany.. all you have to do is plug in the necessary wires and the function works

from the vid it looks like its only linked to the interior lights (then with a timer delay..) but would be interested if it is using something else

Edit: Link to ebay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Light-Duration-all-makes-Coming-Home-Leaving-Home-/250410433235?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a4d9ffad3

Edit 2: After looking at description pics and video it seems uh.. bit home made.. lol. So im sure if someone knows what to connect to it can be made much cheaper/smaller.

Stab in the dark I think the trigger line they would use is the interior and the mechanical lock function.. other bits like immobliser etc I wouldn't really want bodge electronics to touch in-case it goes wrong... :wonder:

So a set up may be IF lock AND interior light is activated, THEN lights will trigger for x amount of seconds etc.. circuit wise, one could use relay for trigger and latch, then relay for lighting. timer delay of sorts, once triggered (finished counting) it will ground the 1st relay to switch everything off..? fun times..... that'll be my lil project for the summer times..

Easiest trigger could well be the warning lights on the door then? As I don't think these illuminate exclusively with the interior light? But only when the car is locked, unlocked or the door opened?

I like that the one on eBay can control 3 items though.. Front Fogs with normal rear lights? I haven't looked at the guide, but guessing you have to splice into the fog light power cables as they go to the lamps, and not around the switch on the dash?

Edit: Scrap that, I get what you mean now.. lol let me have a think..
