Cleaning the car for a trip then.....

Featured Replies

Was cleaning the car for a trip up to somerset tommorow, and to my horror there is a horrible scratch on the front quater pannel, off to halfords get some t cut..... bloody scratch is too deep to get out, well i thought while im here ill do some more pannels, got to the bonnet HOLY CRAP looks like a f1 car has wheel span in the grit on to my car, stone chip galore and t cut dosent get them out, trouble is the areas without stone chips look great, but this only emphasizes the chips.

Not happy :'(

It happens. Part and parcel of motoring really.

Any idea what did the scratch? Rule of thumb for me is if it's easily felt with a fingernail it is too deep to polish out. If it just very slightly felt with a fingernail then it might wet-sand out. If it cannot be felt with a fingernail at all then machine polishing should work.

Im guessing keys and unfortuantly you can feel with fingernail. It sucks!

if it aint gon down to the undercoat you may still improve it...flat it with 1000 wet n dry dipped in soapy water...then t cut...worth a go..
