vrs grille badge

Featured Replies

as above really guys, bought the car without the grille bage on so need to attach my new 1 in the right place, ie which bar? [ how many in from the right?] emoticon-0148-yes.gif

cheers mark

The top right of the badge should be on the 3rd slat in from the right.

There are little grooves on the rear of the back plate, IIRC once you are on the right slat

the little grooves line up giving you the height.

The backplate needs glueing on. You'll need araldite to be certain it doesnt drop off.

Don't think you'll need to glue it on. I fitted a V badge on my Octavia sport well over a year ago, stuck it straight on to the grille using only the backing tape and it's still there and secure as ever. Car is now sold but was used as a taxi so was power washed nearly every day and no detrimental effect on the badge.

That wouldn't work with the furby badge...

It is sold with a back plate because the sticky foam pad is recessed,

On the Fabia, the backplate is glued on even in the factory, probably because its cheaper to do that

than have 2 types of grille. The V badge sticks over the backplate because it creates a protrusion

for it to stick to if you see what I mean.

Yeah, you could be right mate. The Octavia one had a backing plate with adhesive tape on both sides, 1 stuck to the grille, then you peeled the tape that was now facing you and stuck on the V badge. I was surprised just how well it stuck to the plastic grille.
