Help Headlight Washers not working

Featured Replies

Got LnK Occy2 with headlight washers. Worked fine until last couple of weeks.

Any ideas why they would pack in?

How on earth do I get to any parts to check out ?

Sensible advice appreciated !!

Most headlight washers are a separate motor from the washer tank so this could be the issue. Check the fuse for it as it may have it own fuse in the fuse board as a first chance.

Also most washers only work when the headlights are on so you have checked the washers with the lights on (I know it is obvious but just checking).

What age is it? Is it still in waranty? If so then let the dealer figure it out.

Also don't forget that they only work every five(ish) washes!

I have the same thing on mine, VCDS diagnosed a broken/faulty relay (which I believe you can change in the fuse board?). I've left it as it is though, so the lights don't suddenly dip unexpectedly when it's dark and the washers come on!

On a side note is there any way to manually pull them out to clean behind the caps?

Thanks guys, car is a 2006 model.

Tried pulling the offside cover out from the bumper on Friday and although it moved very slightly ended up giving it a slap back into place.

It worked yesterday, so may try pulling and slapping the nearside !

Guess its not a relay, and I know it works every 5 washes. Interestin about the lights dipping when washers operate, I thought it was just the effect of the spray ?

Any other ideas appreciated.

Does anyone know which relay is for the head light washers?

Or better still a full relay map.

Thanks!
