Octavia vRS vs Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

I've owned my Fabia vRS for just over a year now, and as much as its a fantastic car....its just not sporty enough for me. I miss my petrol fun and wasn't a great fan of the Fabia's handling.

Toying with the idea of an Octavia due to its added practicality. What is the handling like on this in comparison to the Fabia? both in stock specification.

I would say better than the Fabia as it's not so nose heavy with the lighter petrol engine.

The Octy with it's longer wheel base doesn't turn in as quick as the Furby but fit a VRS with some decent coilovers and a rear ARB and you will have a fairly good handling car.

furbies are fun  the mrs got one, its on weitec springs now tho and its def fun to thro about,

but ive always favored my octy tbh  even stock i found the octy fun :giggle:

i agree tho, coilovers and the rarb, and now he is grrrrrrrrrreat fun  love the long gears in the octy too

lol if you did fancy a octy , and jus tso happend your furbie was a low miles A1 red one  id say point that fact out to Richievrs

I think when I looked at the figures the Furby VRS also weighed about the same as the Octy VRS despite being a much smaller car.

Furbies hold their value much better though, and obviously the economy is a lot better but you can get pretty good economy from an Octy VRS if you drive carefully.

Octavia is better, I made the switch :)

i have been in both and they are completely different cars - personally think octavia is better, but if you want something smaller and more economical the fabia would suit better

I have had a Fabia, an Octy and an Octy 2. The Fabia was the most 'fun', in that it was sharper to drive (due no doubt to the shorter wheelbase), but it rapidly became unstable in a bend. The Octy 2 was a lot more stable mid-bend but to the point of being boring; the Octy mk1 is a nice halfway house. :) Mine has a few suspension tweaks which I would strongly suggest (even on a vRS I expect it would make a significant difference).
