Bumping this thread.............

Got the 15mm wheel spacers in the end, but after fitting them I wasn't happy with the look, so they have now gone. However, I still want to space the rear wheels out very slightly so I am looking at 8mm spacers but I seem to be having problems getting the bolts. A supplier of eibach spacers has indicated that I will need radius bolts 35mm in length, but the standard bolts are 30mm :S To me this doesn't seem safe! The question is can I use bolts that - including the additional depth of the spacer - are longer than standard, say 40mm?

Am I making sense? because I think I've confused myself. :giggle:

surely if you fit an 8mm spacer, the bolt needs to be 8mm longer???

Thats stating the obvious, but it was exactly my argument, the standard bolts being 30mm, it stands to reason if I fit an 8mm spacer I would need 38mm bolts........ :wonder: but the supplier of the eibachs offered me 35mm!

I agree, so would a 40mm fit, or is there a stop of some kind in the hub/brake bell?

I have 10mm spacers in stock also?

I know its only 2mm difference but I still think they would be to much.

Thanks anyway mate.

Are the 8mm ones Hubcentric??

I thought 10mm was the minimum for Hubcentric

8.5x19 5x112 ET45 with 235 or 245 35 R19 tyres, that should fill the arches!!

LOL - best of luck with the 245s, don't forget to paint the arch damage before it rusts. :giggle:

Actually, I'm going to show mine with rears at 8J ET 28, will post up a pic. Not going to run it like that, it'd be disastrous.

To big?? 235 it is........ :giggle:

Seriously I am thinking of buying these wheels, am I being silly going up to 8.5 from the 7.5 Zeniths?

Have a play with https://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Points of reference to try in there for the before value: orignal zeniths without spacers = 7.5J, ET51 and my CHs which are 8J, ET43 which can occasionally just touch the lips at the back of the rear arches (with 225 tyres) if I've got rear passengers.

So if you think about it, your proposed setup has the wheel outer sitting ~4mm further out than mine AND you're thinking of running a wider tyre.

Forgive the ignorance mate but I get the 225 40 R19 but can you explain the 'ET51' and the '7.5J' measurements?

Edit: just done the calculation using your link, I think those wheels are a no, no! 7mm closer to the strut and a whooping 19mm further out....... emoticon-0149-no.gif

ET - offset, lower = sticks out more

J = rim width in inches

Got it, that link pretty much explained it! emoticon-0148-yes.gif whats annoying is if they had the same offset as the Zeniths, I think they would be perfect! emoticon-0124-worried.gif

Ah yes, must get around to that :giggle:

get a bit more camber on the rear if its hitting the arches.
