help needed quickly,window went crunch,then dropped

went to put the window up on the passenger side, then crunch. the window dropped.

seems like it's come out of the runners. taken the door card off, but cant get to the window as there is a cover riveted on.

Yes you are suffering from the dreaded VW window dropsy, If I was you I would go on holiday and not worry about it until you come back. There are plenty of threads on the forum to fix it but it's not a 5min. job.

yeah, pain in the arse, its to do with the plastic brackets that hold the window. Probably snapped and will need replacing. you'll need to drill all the rivits out, then take the carrier off, replace brackets and rivit back on. Id go on holiday if i was you. ;)
