Help Please, Any Blackberry Buffs..............

Featured Replies

My Blackberry 9700 has gone wonky and is being replaced by Orange which is coming by a courier and I have to give him my old hand set, minus the Sim card.

I am keeping my Sim card to put in the replacement phone

If I back up my wonky phone on Blackberry Desk Top Manager can I then transfer all the data to my new phone.

Is this the best way as I would like to keep all my pictures/music, the only way to copy contacts to a Sim card on the blackberry 9700 is to do them one by one and I have over 200 entries.

Thanks

Andy

The desktop manager has an option to transfer details from one handset to another. It copies everything, right down to theme settings etc. You plug the old phone in, and then once its copied the data you unplug it and plug the new one in.

You can use the backup but I don't think (could be wrong) that it backs up photos or music.

I think if I were you, I would plug your old one in and use the phone transfer option tomorrow morning, and then just leave the computer switched on until your new phone arrives and then finish the process. You could always do a backup before hand just in case, that way you can always fall back on it if the first way doesn't work.
