BTW - it's an Elegance with multi-functional indicator - not maxidot.

WOW!! This is an old thread!

Pre FL with standard computer or with maxidot reset at 99hrs 59min

Humph! Well, the manual says 99hr 59m!

So:

(i) is this regarded as a fault; and

(ii) can it be fixed?

The manual is wrong, there is a disclaimer that the information in it may be incorrect due to software/hardware changes. As your car is on the switchover to facelift, maybe that part of the manual had not been updated yet.

The current manual states:

Total-trip memory (memory 2)

The total-trip memory gathers data from any number of individual journeys up to

a total of 19 hours and 59 minutes driving or 1 999 kilometres driven, and on vehicles

which are fitted with an information display up to a total of 99 hours and

59 minutes driving or 9 999 kilometres driven. The memory is deleted when either

of these limits is reached and the calculation starts all over again.

So, since you do not have maxidot (information display)

1) it is not a fault, its working as designed.

2) no, since the software inside the instrument cluster does not support more than 20 hours memory.
