egr mod

Featured Replies

hi guys, i'm considering the egr gasket mod on my 04 plate fabia vrs. although my engine isnt the one affected by the stutter im still considering the improvement as it would probably improve the running etc,as opposed to blanking off the valve. i'm planning on drilling it (the gasket) out to maybe 14mm. does anyone out there know of any adverse affects of doing this? i know i should maybe leave well alone!! but i like meddling , ha ha. cheers guys, in advance!

hi mate probably best posting this in the fabia section

haha! Posted in "spotted"? You did well to see an EGR mod. ;)

Moved to Fabia 1

mine originally had the 25mm gasket and had the stutter...i replaced with the 9mm one and it ran perfect.

Is this ment to improve performance its seems a bit over my head, is it an easy mod or should i really know what im doing?

skoda put a 25mm gasket in the egr to keep up with emission regs...its caused slight hesitation/stutter at 1500-2000 rpm ish on the BLT engines...the fix is replace with smaller originally fitted gasket (9mm) obtained from dealer....its a simple enuff job if you know what your doing...as the saying goes "everything is easy if you know how"...

wont improve performance just fix's the "stutter".

thanks for the reply's chaps, sorry about posting in the wrong section...again! i'll learn to navigate very soon i hope.

thanks warwick hunt(!) i realise the gasket is a fix for the stutter problem but seeing as i keep reading on various sites about cars running better with the egr disconnected

i thought maybe it would'nt do any harm to see if it improves my motor without going as far as isolating the egr altogether. i'll give it a try and see what its like, at worst the

eml would probably appear maybe. cheers

it defo wont improve performance..just stops all the sh!te building up over time..if you disconnect the egr the cel light will have to b mapped out.
