Fabia MK2 Strut Brace

Featured Replies

As the title hints does anyone know if the mk1 vrs style strut brace will fit onto a mk2 1.4tdi and 1.9tdi, Am also looking for some of the sponsors to come in with this one as I belive there is quiet a few people who would be intrested in this. And also if there is any anti roll bars available to.

Regards and thanks

Hello

I do believe the majority of the partsfrom the Mk1 will fit the MK2

So I would say yes...possibly

Sarah

all ARB's and strut braces wil fitt as its the same chassis. But on the 1.9TDI with regards to front strutbrace there is a boxy thing, think thats the technical term, in the way of the right strut which ill need moving. Might purchase the strut brace soon n post info on fitting but ££'s tight as allways.

is a front strut brace gonna make that much difference. I know some people don't bother with one even on something powerful.

mate, but he has one of the 1.4tdi's lol. i agree but at 50-60 quid its worth a try. just go for the momo ibiza one.

IIRC the Momo/Seat Sport brace that fits the MK1 Fabia WILL NOT FIT the MK2 Fabia/Roomster.

I believe Fluffmeister had one "adapted" to fit his vRoomster at the time. I undertsand he had uprated (Eibach?) front ARB and I have his old Neuspeed rear ARB ready to fit the SWMBO's Roomster

Surely to find stuff out? No?

There's always banter on these here forums, gotta take the rough with the smooth.

I'd be interested in a Brace if any of the sponsors decide to develop one for the Fabia II/Roomster

I had a strut brace on my Mk1 Fabia vRS and I cant really say , hand on heart, that it made any noticable difference at all!!

Rear ARB..Thats another story!! The best mod you can get!!

Strut brace...No...Dont bother..IMO

Looked at doing this myself then decided it wasn't worth it as I don't think it will make much difference.

Have you had cupra bushes fitted? As had these done the other day and it has made a huge difference to how solid the car feels. Steering is much more weighty and has some feeling, front doesn't dive under braking stays nice and flat now and its also made the ride a bit less choppy as the suspension seems able to deal with things better as the solid bush stops a lot of movement. I would be tempted to do that before looking at the strut brace.

I have a strutbrace from Seat fitted with part no. 6L0071710.

Don´t know if it´s the same as for the mk1.

Cupra bushes can only be fitted to the earliest Fabia II. The suspension was changed not long after introduction (in 2007) to eliminate the 'console' assembly and a different design of front subframe and control arm was fitted.

A strut brace is unlikely to do much - they are mainly a styling accessory. The Fabia already has high torsional stiffness. Spend your money on a rear ARB instead, that will make a real difference.

Indeed

I agree.

I couldn´t feel the difference with the strut brace, but the RARB.........WOW that was a different story. Worth every penny. Go for it, you know you want to....

I've been wondering what to upgrade, rear arb or lowered springs. I think i might go for the rear arb as I can't afford both (insurance and cost to fit both)

Hi

Yes , the rear ARB for the MK2 is the same as MK1

That rear ARB fits alot of cars

Yes , the MK2 early one , have not seen a later one to be fair , all suspension parts fit

I did test drive an early MK2 , and to be fair , my old MK1 with the rear ARB and lowered handles shed loads better with them mods on

Sarah

Mk II REAR suspension is the same as the Mk I

Mk II FRONT suspension on early models is the same as the Mk I, but later Mk II's (approx 2008 MY on) have a different front suspension design with all-steel front subframe. The alloy 'Console' assy used on the Mk I is no longer employed.

You got any pics mate?

I got the strut brace and the Whiteline RARB though Sarah at Awesome.
