Featured Replies

Taken my monster 2 hours ago.

Marvellous!!!!!

Just a thing.

coming back home I had my first problem.

Failed to insert the gear and the engine reached 5000 rpm.

Could this be a problem (maybe the engine is still too new)?

I hope i didn't anything that could damage my new car

Relax, no need to worry. Some people actually believe that (once warmed up) revving them to 4000-5000 rpm is the best way to run them in!

Enjoy your new Yeti. :)

ps - where abouts in Italy are you based? :)

The engine was fully warmed.

I live near Naples, at the base of Vesuvius (Torre del Greco).

Hope my Yeti can ride lava too

;)

Im having a sureal moment now and imagining the scene from Dante's Peak where Brosnan takes his 4x4 across the lava flow - only in my head its a Yeti now! :D

I would love to visit Naples! This year im taking the Yeti to see the Lakes and then down to Florence and around my favourite places in Europe; San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena etc. Ahhhh, the Tuscan countryside, Im hoping my Yeti will enjoy it as much as me!

For every person who drives a new car perfectly from the off there will be a hundred who, while trying to get used to it, fluff gearchanges, move the wrong switches etc.etc. My "clangers" were to put the gear into reverse when trying to find first and moving the wiper switch up to "switch off" the wipers! (still do that one!)

I can see it now!

I'm taking mine to the Austrian Alps in August. Aside from the drive down, I'm really looking forward to a couple of high roads:

The grossglockner is wonderfull (can't comment on the gerlosstrase as i never drove it). Just be sure to give yourself some time margin when you are in the area so that you can choose the right day for the trip. The reason beeing that whether conditions are very important and is better to postpone to the next day if the weather is bad.

Just a personal comment though... in my opinion is really a bikers road... more than a car driver road. If i had to give a score to pleasure i would rate it 10 for bike and 7 for car.

I'm flying into Naples on Monday for a week's training at an aircraft manufacturer's factory in Capua - best I keep a look out for all these Italian YETIs!

You'd better pracise looking left before crossing the road too. It significantly improves the survival rate.

Surely its not worse than Roma?! OMG - there was me and my best mate and a Fiat 500 hire car. As to how we managed to squeeze between the buses and lorries (that literally just seemed to drive where they wanted with no warning) I will never ever be able to work out! :giggle::D

Yes, in Italy the rules of the road are just like the menus, just a suggestion to whet your appetite :p

However, most of my experiences in Italy have been North of Firenze. I must say that drivers in Milano are very polite in relation to those in Paris. I think it has something to do with realizing that it works better that way - and we all have to live with it daily.

Naples is a special case....:-)

Don't worry tajima, i'm italian too and i lived in naples 10 years ago...:-)

Good example..emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

... as in most places the best dishes are always out of the official menu, probably this explains the reason for considering it just as guidelines.

You won't get the full taste experience if you stick to the menu!

...then again... you may run into some unpleasant surprise.emoticon-0140-rofl.gif
