Chocolate Cam?

Featured Replies

Was at my local VAG meet the other night and had a guy come upto me and ask

'What engine that got in it' so i told him 'Its the PD130'

he then said i quote 'Oh yea there the better PD130s they havent got the Chocolate cam in them!!'

WTF?????

Do the none Skoda PD130s have a **** cam in them????

More a problem with the PD150s historically.

However, run any PD engine on crappy oil and the top end will wear faster than you can "what's that rattle....?? BANG!"

whatever next?? biscuit brake discs?

Coming to ours? :D

I have head of cam trouble on the pd150's.

Mates dad had a Bora with that engine.

Main dealer serviced (company car...) So oil should have been okay??

In the 3 years he had it it had major work done on the top end 3 times.:o

Mates dad joked he was glad he wasn't paying....

whatever next?? biscuit brake discs?

The rears start to resemble a digestive biscuit along the edges after

a really very short time. So you're not too far off the mark there.

the thing that always stuck in my mind was a poster that they had on the wall in the dealership about non-genuine parts, it had a dinner plate and a scouring pad folded over the edge to resemble a disc and pads... i remember saying to the geezer "haha yeah, the genuine ones are like that!"
