Control System for Exhaust management Light

Featured Replies

My Engine Management light has just come on / and stays on and I also get / WORKSHOP EMMISSIONS come up when I initially start the car?

The car drives and runs perfectly fine but could this be something serious, sounds like it might from the comments I have read above ECU replacement..??? Or not, it might only be a software update or sensor replacment?

I haven't checked the brake lights yet as the first post states, -could this really be the issue brake lights for an exhaust error??

I have a 2006 1.9TD L&K manual.

Thanks

There are numerous possible reasons why the fault light is illuminated. A faulty ECU is amongst the least likely. You really need to get the vehicle scanned for fault codes before jumping to any conclusions.

Yeah it can be the brake lights. But also known causes for it are the glow plug software, exhaust pressure sensor and when mine recently did it, it was traced to a faulty air pressure sensor.

Had exactly the same dash light & "Emissions Warning!" message on Maxidot twice now...

First time was over a year ago & the turbo had died - that got replaced under warranty.

Last time was a cuppla weeks ago - on this occasion it was the "V157 Intake Manifold Flap motor" that was goosed.

Just seen you've posted the same in the "Help! My EPC light..." thread, guess you've read the first post - the usual answer is "get it scanned" ...find a Brisky member near you with VCDS - that should give you a pointer what the prob is. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Ooo... just noticed - it's an L&K you've got ...cool! emoticon-0103-cool.gifemoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Thanks for the replies and support everyone I will get it scanned and let you know how I get on, I also have some rust comming through on the boot near the number plate which is a worry as its only just over 3 years old I am hoping this is covered by a body work warranty, I will probably get them checked out at the same time.

Have to go to Milton Keynes now as Northampton Skoda closed down :o(

Hi I had this light, the one that looks like an engine. I took it to a skoda specialist and they fitted a new evap solenoid and then the light was off and car felt and sounded better.

but a week later the light has come back on, does anyone have an idea of what it could be this time?

Ignore - Dashboard light now gone out :)

Edited by Wardy-

Was gonna suggest something to the OP....but then noticed that the original 5 posts were from almost 3 years ago.......so the OP's problem......as suggested by Dashy has probably been sorted!!!

Hmm - mburt88.....not sure I can help!!! I used to have this issue on a Mondeo TDCI......twice, it was the EGR on the way out.....but as your Octy is a petrol it probably isn't one of them!!!

Hi I know this is a bit old but I have recently had the P3103 Fault code (Motor for intake manifold flap (V157), the car runs well nothing feels wrong but I have also just had to replace a rear brake light bulb. I saw your reference to a possible link above but I could not see a post you might have been referring to. Can you remember where it is? Ta
