Voltage stablizer/Ground kit.

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

If you have spare 4/6/8 AWG cable lying about

OR a stubborn older brother who bought a grounding kit and voltage stablizer then realised it wasn't worth ££ EVEN tho his little bro who studies electronic engineering says "thats just very very little performance/efficiency gain for the price (£30)"..............

 You can then do this with it.. (basically I long term borrowed his stash of car bits when he changed from a fairly heavily modded (N/A) Alfa 159 to a Renault Scenic)

Grounding points were:

~Gear lever thing? (below the battery),

~ Alternator

~ Engine block on LHS.

~ Bolt where it supports the oil can? (Im not sure what this is, its on the bottom LHS next to the belt)

~ Up to the EGR bit

~ Back round to the original body ground point

HTH :giggle:

I've connected the -ve terminal of the battery to more ground points around the car using blue cables. 4/6/8 gauge wire would be sufficient, however I would not recommend spending ££ on it. I just had some lying about, improvement on efficiency is very subtle/minimal, it works better with some cars than others e.g. Japanese cars tend to have weaker ground points.

Its not a definate benifit however it would not have negetive effects.

my car struggles to start at times, i think it might be a bad earth, if i were to do this would it help you rekon?

i can get all the cable and crimps from work for free ;)

prob 10 or 16mm would be best ?

If you think its a bad earth then cheapest way is to clean the contacts, the alternative is yes connecting multiple grounds would help

Size wise, the bigger the better. 16mm would be ok though.
