replacing my battery on the vRS

Featured Replies

Doing a bit of preventative maintenance and i'd like to replace my batter which is the OEM one. Its 5 years old. It looks different to a normal battery and i've been told its about £100 from skoda? there seems to be additional cables attached to it also.weird looking thing

why is it so expensive? and can i not just swap it for a Varta or Bosch?

Thats not the battery you are looking at as such, if you go under that bit then you will see the standard looking battery

Thanks, So what is that thing? its got cables bolted to it

Its just like a distributor block for the cables to save clagging them all on directly to a terminal.

thanks and any 096 battery should directly replace the skoda one in there?

i've seen a few being sold on tanya, they seem to range from 72Ahs to 77. I'm sure the skoda one is 72Ah. Does it matter? or should i go for the highest Ah I can find?

Bosch or Varta I think are ok. Bearing in mind varta make bosch batteries....lol.
