Turbo/ manifold gasket

Featured Replies

Had a service recently and my mechanic told me that he thought my turbo to manifold gasket was blowing! Not really heard of this happening before can anyone shed some light on it? Is it expensive and what affect may it have on the car, car seems to be fine with no loss of power etc. Thanks.

not uncommon

try nipping the 3 bolts up on top of the mannifold to turbo if not buy new gasket couple of quid undo the 3 olts and change it not to hard say 30min job

hope this helps

p.s you prob wont even notice a difference

Cheers mate, might just leave it in that case then.

no harm in nipping the 3 bolts up.... infact you really should check they are tight otherwise them might eventually fall out....

I'd be surprised if the bolts are loose, hot things corrode and cease up after a while, but give the nuts a turn anyhow.

In terms of any issue, hot exhaust gas in The engine bay? Minimal issue I'd gave thought.

Yeah will just check the bolts then see if they turn slighty, may just be enough.
