octavia 2 towbar electrics

Featured Replies

Hi

Have a octavia 2 hatch and would like to know what single electrics to fit, been advised to use dedicated skoda elecs but these are expensive is there a cheaper place to buy them rather than from a dealer I would like to use these because they use proper plugs rather than hard wired

I got a kit that plugged into the back lights. Only other connection to the car was a 12V line to the fuse box and the only other wiring needed was to fit the correctly coloured wires to the 7 pin plug at the hitch (Which was very easy thanks to the instructions provided). The kit I got may well have been easier to install than the OEM kit. I got it from twoequipe last year: http://www.towequipe.co.uk/

They seem to be out of stock at the moment - here's a link to the kit for the Octy I to give a rough idea of what it looks like: http://www.towequipe.co.uk/products/towt099-7-pin-specific-towbar-wiring-fits-skoda-octavia-9805.html - this is pre canbus AFAIK, so it won't work in an Octy II and the plugs for the lights probably won't be the same...
