I've been having a look at all the road noise topics - I've got a pre facelift Elegance TDI which has horrendous road noise on most surfaces and I was thinking of changing it to a new model - can anyone tell me if the road noise is better or worse in the latest models?

Comparing my Dad's pre-FL car with his new 1.6TDI, it's about the same. The biggest difference came when he changed tyres on the old car and had some T1-R's fitted. Massively quieter.

Not that I would describe it as horrendous :S

My brother found that too. His vRS is much quieter with T1-R's than the Dunlops. Grips better too.
