Here another GOOD reason NOT to text or use a mobile without a FULL kit. while driving.

WARNING: The following video contains graphic images of people getting SERIOUSLY hurt, if you are easily upset then DO NOT watch it.

I take NO responsibility for any consequences after anyone has watched it. I would also advise parents view this ONLY as the images are upsetting.

Lol at the massive editing buffoonery, original crash sees all the Ka's side windows exploding at various intervals of the initial crash, yet they are all intact

when the firemen cut out the 'casualties'. Serious message though, don't use your mobile and drive

Never fails to amaze me how many top end motors dont have 'Hands free' kit's installed! £100kplus motor and they cant be bothered to spend 100 quid life saver!

One wonders why they don't make it law that hands free must be fitted to all new cars. Surely car manufacturers can fit a cheap bluetooth kit for £25.

Still, I'd rather see the use of mobile phones banned completely in cars - even with hands free you're distracted from driving.

It is true you are still distracted, I have found myself missing junctions because I'm on the phone (on the handsfree!) which is annoying when the next one's miles up the road! Although normally I end up hanging my sentences or just errring for a bit whilst I concentrate on the road rather than the telephone conversation.

The good thing is though that for people that are out and about like me is that you don't have to keep pulling over everytime someone rings you, or wait in a services car park for a call back. Also talking to your other half at 3am if you're feeling your sanity slipping.

A good point about the bluetooth kit as standard, only problem I could forsee is some of the cheap ones having compatibility issues, or when the car and kit gets older that it won't be compatible with your new phone. At least last time that happened, I could just replace the kit.

Yeah, I work in IT and would find myself talking someone through a procedure on the phone whilst driving like I was working a help desk. In the end, despite being provided hands free kit for the car, I would just turn off my phone whenever I got into the car. Mind you, I've never much liked mobile phones - or rather I've never much liked the fact that they make me constantly available when sometimes I'd rather just be driving to my next appointment.

I dunno - isn't standard bluetooth fairly standard now? Doesn't need to be anything fancy and I'm sure for £30-50 they could seamlessly integrate something into the vehicle (ie, something slightly more sophisticated than a black box clipped to the sun visor)

It migt be a lot better now, but I know I had to replace my old Nokia CK-7W with a CK-300 hands free when I got a newer phone. It did work, but the reception was poor, once it was upgraded no problems. the CK-7W also didn't like the newer non-Nokia phones.
