Over the moon :)

Featured Replies

Took delivery of my new candy white vRS on Wednesday night last week and was gutted that the engine management light came on! Spoke to the dealer the next morning and they came to pick the car up fixed the problem and returned it all in the same day :)

Has got 350 miles on it now and I am loving it!

Big thanks to Sean Brown at Silbury Skoda, Cramlington, Northumberland - the dealer in general have been a pleasure to deal with and very helpful

Hello,

You must have been guted to see the EML.

What was the cause of it?

When they did the PDI checks they hadn't put the oil dipstick back in properly and the engine suffered oil pressure loss and therefore CEL. Silly mistake really but everything is spot on now :D

Oops, I bet they're feeling like a right dipstick.... Your experience doesn't bode well for me though. I pick mine up, an anthracite vRS, from Silbury Skoda next month. Let's hope they PDI it properly. Anyway, many happy miles motoring in yours. I bet you're chuffed to bits with it.

The most important question - is it petrol or diesel?

Yeah I love it, plenty of options on it too that make it even better :D Yeah I'm sure it was a daft mistake, someone eager to get their ciggy break lol! In fairness they were really quick to get it sorted and couldn't be more apologetic!

Well, they'd better not be too eager for their ciggie break when they're PDI-ing mine! Mind you, if the EML came on, it'd give me a good excuse to drive the car back down to Cramlington from Edinburgh along the A68, a cracking piece of road.

Petrol or diesel? Well, being the penny pincher that I am, I went for the diesel. How about you?

What toys did you go for? You didn't tick the one marked "Eibach sports springs" did you? I'm toying with getting them myself, purely for aesthetic and handling purposes, but am worried about what they'll do to the ride. I value my spine too much! Justin's got them fitted to his though, so i'm hoping for a shot in his to help me make my mind up.

I bought my vRS from Justin at Silbury. Saw his white vRS on the day he was due to take it and it looked well on the lower springs. I would be worried about the ride being a bit harsh though but haven't been in it. Peter the service manager assured me it cornered like it was on rails though, when he was 'testing it out'.

Each persons' threshold of what is considered harsh obviously varies but I have the Eibachs and I wouldn't call the ride harsh at all. Personally I wouldn't worry. I had the same concerns when I ordered mine but I have no regrets. I purposefully had them fitted to the car from new so that I wouldn't know what the car was like as stock. Anyway, lowered the car looks great, handles well and on the roads we have up here isn't uncomfortable. Okay, it's not quite like floating on a magic carpet but one wouldn't but a vRS for that.

Sarge.

Went for the petrol option mate, i drove both and just thought it was a bit more smooth and refined than the diesel, although in some way i think the diesel one felt a bit quicker :S but i'm happy with my choice so all is good :D

I got front & rear parking sensors, xenons, sat nav, leather, heated seats, auto dim mirror and MDI so its pretty kitted out :D

Yeah i know the A68 it is a great road but last time i drove it was in the winter in sleety conditions in my s2000 so it wasn't the best experience
