Strange looking knobs on my bumper!

Featured Replies

Hey folks!

I damaged my rear bumper in winter last year on my Fabia 1.2 Classic (2005 reg). We all know it was a fairly bad one and I now have a lovely bump on the left hand side of my rear bumper.

I've been looking to get it replaced when its due for its MOT (only cosmetic damage so not fussed about getting it fixed ASAP) I've been on ebay and the usual places to get a new one and I've noticed that Fabia bumpers I've found for sale are missing two little knob type things on the bumper.

Now, what are they? They don't do anything as far as I know so would it matter if I replaced the rear bumper without them being on it?

They look like aftermarket reversing sensors

^ As above. I would guess really bad/cheap ones.

I thought that too but theres no switches or anything like that which would turn them on. No signs of any interior modding either. Certainly dont get any beeps as I reverse which is a shame.. Gues I'll find out when I stick it in for its MOT and have the bumper replaced.

they are the cheap jml reverse sensors but dont have the wires that they should have! Thats why they dont work

Ahh thanks for clearing that up!

Must of been rubbish if the previous owner didnt keep them working. Thanks again

Hi,

Yup, JML top notch product there.. SWMBO works at a Wilkinson store so JML a loooong running joke with us!

Just wanted to say though, have you had the car looked over by a pro since the accident as that bumper seems quite badly deformed for a flexible piece of plastic. I'd have expected it to have popped back out and would be investigating what's holding it up like that? Hopefully just caught on something.
