RARB advice

I found this guide here on how to fit it

http://www.fabia-vrs.com/technical-info/jabbasport-antil-roll-bar-fitting/

But i've got a few questions for people who've had either this or the whiteline version.

Does it make the car any noisier?

If I fit the whiteline can i select even the mildest setting and would that give me a stiffer rear?

do you have to replace the bushes on the RARB every so often? i've heard they are naff.

Do you loose rear grip in the wet?

is the car more likely to oversteer with RARB?

thanks

No

No so much stiffer, more tighter with less roll

Yes but just as you would with any bush

No

Yes

Adding a rear ARB will reduce the understeer and depending on what setting you have it on you may get a little over steer in the wet. If you have it on the softest setting you'll be fine and it won't change the feel of the car too much, but you will still feel an improvement.

As for the noise and bushes, the bar won't give you any noise and the bushes should last just as long as a normal set of bushes.

Umm.. it will not be as forgiving when going over pot holes. I have the jabba rarb and upper front strut so its somewhat amplified, if you only get the rarb its still quite bearable if you do intend to go over pot holes.

I thought the bushes on the rarb are not under strain..? it should last for ages no?

I've never had a chance to drive the vRS 'at pace' in the rain (I don't intend to either  ) But when I had the 1.4 with the rarb the steering became neutral with a hint of lift off oversteer (in the rain). :p

hth

P.S. its harder to fit the rarb in the vRS than the 1.4.. its a tad lower.. kept rubbing my nose against the bottom of the rear bumper..........

As above really only, but if you hit a pothole with one side the rarb has a tendancy to transfer the shock to the other wheel, giving a more noticeable effect.

shame really as where i work its full of pot holes. Private road and theres even been cases where small cars have got stuck in the holes or fallen in and been damaged.

i think i'll have to not bother with the RARB

It's not too bad, only if you're going at speed you'll notice it, and if you know the pothole then you won't hit them!!

I would definately go for it, it makes a big difference even on a standard car.

1) Jabba one won't unless something's "out". On mine, for some reason the exhaust BB was 1/2" too far forwards and made an awful noise bashing on the RARB until it was spotted and fixed. Whiteline one is more likely to make the odd clink or rattle as the droplinks wear. ISTR DECRON had a few noises for a while.

2) Yes.

3) I've had mine since 2006/7 and the bushes are the originals. Were checked by Jabba and pronounced good at a service late 2009.

4) Not had it happen to me yet. I'm still more likely to lose the front under power than the back. Though I don't trail brake and mostly try to keep things sane on the road.

5) It is... but not to silly extents. And it'll be more predictable with a RARB than it is without one. Mine was horrible without the RARB. Rear suspension didn't know hat to do about power transitions in corners and usually gave up and LURCHED (or sagged and LURCHED)!

don't let pot hole comments put you off though, for the amount you pay, it really is a worthwhile mod. Understand that spending £££ on something people on the forum says is a bit iffy at times, If your unsure maybe find a local fabia meet sometime, im very sure someone will have it, and im sure they'll be happy to show you :D Im down south if thats any help.
