If not Autoglym Lifeshine-what?

Featured Replies

Recently saw thread about Autoglym Lifeshine and most posters saying its not worth the money.I declined it when I bought my new car but is there anything out there that will do the job. I note same product is advertised on Ebay for about £50 but whats really in the can? I wouldn't want to go putting some a load of c..p on my car .

So whats the best treatment for the bodywork?

How long is a piece of string :D

The best thing you can do is either:

Get a professional detailer to fully detail and seal the paintwork for you

Get a high quality paint protectant (I recommend Collinite 576s for longevity) - cost around £30-£50 including decent cloths + an afternoon of your time (and you'll have enough left over to do many more coats)

If you do either of these, then simply wash by hand using a high quality wax-safe shampoo, then the finish should last around 6 months. After this time you'll need to do one of the above.

However, if you plan to use drive-through hand car washes, let your next door neighbours son wash it for a fiver, use bristly jet-wash brushes, or go through mechanical car washes then no sealant or protectant (AutoGlym Lifeshine included) will take that abuse and you're better off not bothering wasting your time or effort on anything.

Second the Collinite. Can also recommend a coat of Bilt Hamber Auto Balm before applying the Collinite.
